Haydock Grange Preston

Taylor Wimpey

Welcome to the Haydock Grange website

On 10 January 2012, members of Preston City Council's Planning Committee approved the outline application for Haydock Grange.

Taylor Wimpey is delighted with the decision as we have, in conjunction with the local community, worked extremely hard to ensure the plans for Haydock Grange will deliver an attractive and sustainable place to live, as well as providing new facilities for existing residents to use and enjoy. Preston needs more houses to meet the demands of an aspirational growing city and we are confident that the proposals for Haydock Grange represent the best option to deliver much-needed new homes.

The next step is for Taylor Wimpey to submit a detailed planning application to Preston City Council. Taylor Wimpey remains committed to engaging with local residents, local members and stakeholders regarding the proposals and we look forward to working with the people of Preston to further develop the plans.

An exciting time for Preston

Having achieved city status in 2002, Preston has ambitions to become one of the top three cities in the North West and a major focal point for investment and economic growth over the next 20 years. This will require major new investments to harness Preston's city status and propel its economic prosperity.

Taylor Wimpey's proposals at Haydock Grange represent an opportunity to deliver one such major investment, providing badly needed new homes and a boost to Preston's economy. The proposals will offer a mixture of housing types and sizes to cater for all local needs - from first time buyers, those trading up the ladder, key workers and the elderly - but there will be an emphasis on quality family homes.

If you are looking to buy a new home in Preston, we really want to hear from you. What are your requirements for a new property? Are you looking for a new home for you and your family? Are you a first time buyer struggling to get your foot on the housing ladder? Are you getting older and would prefer a smaller property? What would you want to see included in a new development? Working with the people of Preston

The proposals for Haydock Grange have evolved through ongoing engagement with the people of Preston, including an extensive two stage public consultation process undertaken on the plans. The initial stage sought to explore the broad principles and issues associated with the redevelopment of the site to help develop the draft proposals, whilst the second phase of the public consultation programme was used to explain how the comments from the local community helped create and shape the plans.

A full report detailing all the feedback received was prepared and submitted with the outline planning application. This report offers our responses to the comments received and can be viewed by searching for our application on Preston City Council's website here.

The team would like to thank everyone for contributing their views at the consultation events, online and via the postal feedback forms, and through the community information line. We are grateful for your comments and a number of these have been used to influence the planning application.

We will, of course, return to hear the community's views in the future on the detailed planning application in due course.
